Three ways to jump-start your New Year’s resolutions with Call to Health

January 03, 2022

Call to Health offers activities to encourage healthy habits during the holiday season and all year long.

During the busy holiday season, it can be challenging to focus on self-care and maintain the healthy habits we've worked hard to establish. Call to Health* offers activities to help you stay on track with your goals and get a head start on working toward health and wholeness in the new year. Here are three things you can do now to answer the call in 2022.

  1. Take the confidential Well-Being Assessment on the Call to Health website. This required Call to Health challenge is a valuable tool for setting health goals. You'll see your results immediately, including your top three strengths and your top three areas for improvement. Based on your results, you'll also see Recommended Categories for You on your Call to Health homepage. Click Explore under any category (Nutrition or Financial Well-being, for example) to discover dozens of My Choice activities to help you focus on that particular topic.
  2. Make an appointment for a preventive exam with your primary doctor if you haven't already. Having regular preventive exams is one of the best things you can do for your health — and it's a required Call to Health activity every year.** Getting your preventive exam is an opportunity to check in with your doctor on your overall health, ask questions, discuss changes in your health, and address any issues. Be sure to log on to the Call to Health website and record the date of your exam to meet the requirement.
  3. Complete at least one optional Call to Health challenge this month. Whether you resolve to strengthen your faith, eat better, reduce debt, or excel in your career, there's a Call to Health challenge to help you get, and stay, on track to a better you in 2022. When you complete Level 1 you'll qualify for reduced medical deductibles in 2023. Keep going and receive a $50 Tango gift card at Level 2 and get another $50 Tango card at Level 3.

New to Call to Health?

If you haven't answered the call in the past, make this the year you commit to being an active participant in your well-being. Log on to the Call to Health website to discover all that the program has to offer. And, when you register for the first time and complete the confidential Well-Being Assessment, you'll receive a $50 Tango card that you can redeem for retail gift cards or use to make charitable donations.

*Call to Health is available to employees and their spouses with medical coverage through the Board of Pensions; it is not available to members enrolled in Triple-S, GeoBlue, or the Medicare Supplement Plan.

**A preventive exam is required annually for those 50 and older or every 24 months for those under 50. If you are under 50 and had a physical last year, to receive credit and points for meeting this requirement, enter the date of the visit and the name of your physician where prompted, even if you entered the same information and received Call to Health points for it last year.
