Medical costs

Your medical coverage costs depend on several factors, including which coverage level you choose and how much your employer contributes to the cost.

Monthly cost of coverage

When you elect medical coverage, the monthly cost of coverage is expressed in flat dollar amounts by coverage level: Member-only, Member + Spouse, Member + Child(ren), or Member + Family.

  • Employers are required to pay at least 50 percent of the cost of Member-only coverage for the lowest-cost option (PPO, EPO, and/or HDHP) they offer.
  • You may be asked to pay the difference between the minimum employer contribution and the cost of that option and/or any other option available to you, and up to 100 percent of the incremental cost of coverage for eligible family members.

Pastor's Participation

If you’re enrolled in Pastor’s Participation, full family PPO medical coverage is included at no cost to you. Your employer pays the full cost.

Cost of care

In addition to the monthly cost of coverage, you share in the cost of medical care and treatment you receive through deductibles, copays, and coinsurance, which differ under each option. For more information, see the Key Provisions chart for your medical option (PPO, EPO, or HDHP).
