Effective Jan. 1, 2027, Post-Retirement Medical Plan benefits will include medical coverage through the UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan, with Part D prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts Medicare (PDP).

Medical benefits
Post-retirement medical benefits are provided through the UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan. This plan has all the benefits of Medicare Part A (hospital coverage) and Medicare Part B (doctor and outpatient care) plus extra programs that go beyond Original Medicare (Medicare Parts A and B).

Prescription drug benefits
Prescription drug benefits are provided through Express Scripts Medicare. As a plan participant, you can fill covered prescriptions at more than 68,000 network pharmacies or through the Express Scripts Home delivery service.

Retiring in 2027?
If you’re planning to retire in 2027, you may be eligible to enroll in the UnitedHealthcare Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan, with Part D prescription drug coverage through Express Scripts Medicare (PDP).

Important: If you do not enroll in the Post-Retirement Medical Plan when you are first eligible, you will not be able to enroll in the future unless the Board holds an open enrollment period.
