These benefits can be offered to employees regardless of the number of hours they are regularly scheduled to work — and at little to no cost to you as an employer. Consider these benefits for both full- and part-time employees.
Are you offering your employees financial protection in case the unexpected happens? The Board offered two new disability plans in 2021.
Temporary Disability Plan. In the event of a short-term disability, this financial protection benefit provides employees with a partial income for up to 90 days after a 14-day waiting period. This plan is included in the Pastor’s Participation and the Minister's Choice benefits packages. Employers may offer the plan outside of those packages to employees working at least 20 hours per week.
Long-Term Disability Plan. This benefit offers financial protection for employees with a long-term disability that extends beyond 90 days, providing them with a partial income throughout their disability. Employers may offer this plan to employees working at least 20 hours per week who are not enrolled in the Death and Disability Plan.
When the Long-Term Disability Plan is offered with the Temporary Disability Plan, employees are provided with comprehensive financial protection should they become unable to work.
Two benefits packages are available to support the well-being of ministers and their families. Pastor's Participation is a comprehensive benefits package, while Minister's Choice provides important financial protection to ministers.
Minister’s Choice. This benefits package provides important financial protection during active service and into retirement at only 10 percent of effective salary. Plus, it expands access to assistance and education programs*, such as CREDO and Board University. Benefits include the Defined Benefit Pension Plan, the Death and Disability Plan, the Temporary Disability Plan, and the Employee Assistance Plan.
Pastor's Participation. This comprehensive benefits package is designed to meet the healthcare and retirement needs of ministers and their families. Coverage includes PPO family medical coverage, the Defined Benefit Pension Plan, the Retirement Savings Plan of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Death and Disability Plan, and the Temporary Disability Plan.
