Vision Eyewear Plan

The Vision Eyewear Plan gives employees the opportunity to save hundreds of dollars every year on the cost of eyeglasses, contacts, lens enhancements, and more, and helps to support vision health.

Proper and up-to-date vision eyewear contributes to good vision health. As one of the ways in which we help to support the well-being of employees, the Board of Pensions partners with VSP to offer the Vision Eyewear Plan to employers of any size, at little or no cost to your organization. The Vision Eyewear Plan gives employees the opportunity to save hundreds of dollars every year on eyewear.

Coverage for services

Once enrolled in the Vision Eyewear Plan, employees and covered family members each receive an annual allowance for eyeglasses or contacts, as well as discounts on extra glasses, sunglasses, lens enhancements, and more. The Vision Eyewear Plan offers the flexibility and freedom to use both network and out-of-network providers.

Eligibility to participate

The Vision Eyewear Plan is a cost-effective way for you as an employer to maximize your benefits offerings. And there is no hourly work requirement for employees to participate, so you can offer it to employees working less than 20 hours per week.

Costs

The following are the current monthly Vision Eyewear Plan costs. When you decide to offer the Vision Eyewear Plan to your employees, you may, but are not required to, contribute toward the cost of the coverage.

For example, if you choose to contribute 50 percent toward the cost of Member + Family vision eyewear coverage, you and the employee would each pay $6.56 per month, for a total of $13.12 per month.
